Republic of Tataristan is located in the place where the Kaam and Idyll rivers run into within the eastern region of the Eastern European savanna. It is a Turkish Republic with a surface area of 67.836 km2. Tataristan takes the 112th line among 214 countries on the world in respect of its surface area. The distance between the north-south borders of Tataristan is 290 km, and the distance between the east-west borders is 460 km. Tataristan is the neighbour of two brother Turkish Republic, Chuvashistan in the west and Bashkiria the wast. There is the Republic of Mari in the northwest of Tataristan, Kirov region in the north, the Republic of Udmurt in the northeast, Orenburg region in the southeast and Samara and Simbir (Ulyanovsk) in the south. Its capital is Kazan.
