Personality Ahmet Kabaklı lived a simple and unexaggerated life as a person knowing the difficulties of life since his childhood which he lived in poverty of the first years of the Republic. He was serious about country affairs, in his articles and conferences but was an unbelievably joking, congenial, modest, joyous, generous, full of love, fatherly, merciful person in his private life. His close environment describe him with many of his features such as his loyalty to Turkish language and Turkey and Turkish People, being a wise, researcher, hard working, faithful, merciful, supporting the right and oppressed, real intellectual not apart from people, grateful person with ability to produce new projects, not using his pen for his interests, resisting in his idea, not deviating from his path, not considering worldly goods as too valuable and a spring of ideas, using his thoughts and pen for the benefit of native land and nation who is a school himself, a monument of self-respect and a personage of nation and history.

His personality was formed by his family environment and specially the stories, myths and folk songs which his mother Münire Hanim told. The second woman after his mother feeding his ideas with national emotions and thoughts is his literature teacher Cahit Okurer, he was also influenced by well-educated and distinguished teachers such as his French teacher Cemil Meriç, history teacher Yahya Pehlivan, Mathematics teacher Vehbi Güney. In the department of Turkish Language and Literature which he attended as a student, he attended the classes of Reşit Rahmeti Arat, Ahmet Caferoğlu, Ali Nihat Tarlan, Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar and Mehmet Kaplan. All his teachers, Prof. Mehmet Kaplan in particular, whom he deemed to be so close to himself as his elder brother, played important roles in his receiving a good occupational education and improvement of his nationalist ideas.

He won hearts with his pen as the Alperen (hero saint) of XXth and XXIst century in Turkish world. He expresses as follows how he wants to be a hero saint as a symbol of unity of his nation: “My longing and yearning for future is the hero saint manners, hero saint living, hero saint freedom, hero saint love surrounding the existence of my nation”. So “I embraced bravery yearning for hero saint being. You see, I lived with the heroes conquesting the castles of Belgrade and Üsküp with forty blessed horsemen who passed to Thrace and Bolayır from Dardanelles on rafts”.

He fought against the people disregarding our Republic, national culture and beliefs and especially our language during his times as student, teacher, author and in all stages of his thought career on behalf of himself and his nation. He always wrote as he believed, thus serving Turkish nation, Islam, science and democracy he is a member of.

Ahmet Kabaklı who knew Persian and French enough to study literary pieces, had a wide knowledge of both eastern and western culture, and Turkish Culture because of the environment he grew up and his occupational education. In his conferences in several countries of the world, in particular in Anatolia, he tried to describe Turkish culture and art in radio and television programs, cooled and encouraged burning hearts.

His lovers compared him to Alperen because of his being full of love, to Yusuf Has Hacib because of his talking about honesty and uprightness in his books, to Kasgarli Mahmut because of his struggle to protect and improve Turkish language, to Dede Korkut because of his wisdom and authority, a dervish, gazhi, raider bey because of his sharing the problems of Turks of all the world, and Evliya Çelebi because of his going to everywhere he is invited to.
