Çaka Bey came out victorious from Sakiz War. Çaka Bey, after the victory, prepared a big plan in his mind. He was going to capture Thrace passing Dardanelles. He decided to seize Istanbul by forming an army from the Pecenek and Christian Oghuzes living in Balkans. He agreed with the Peceneks to fulfill his plan. Peceneks were ready to march toward Istanbul having prepared a big army when Byzantine Emperor agreed with Kumans to prevent this danger. He promised a lot to them.

These two Turkish forces attacked each other mercilessly on 29 April 1091. Kumans killed Pecenek Turks. They burned their houses. They put thousands of them, even children, to sword. Çaka Bey could not go help Peceneks.

In 1092, Çaka Bey established friendly relations with Anatolian Seljukian Sultan Kılıçarslan the 1st. In those times, the strongest armies of Anatolia were commanded by Kılıçarslan. Kılıçarslan the 1st, who made Iznik city his center of government, was permanently seizing Byzantine cities. Çaka Bey made his sister marry Kılıçarslan the 1st thus getting his kinsman to strengthen his friendship with Seljukian Turks.

Çaka Bey, after seizing environs of Canakkale, took Edremit city. His organizing the Peceneks in Balkans feared Byzantine Emperor much. He planned to eliminate Çaka bey tricks, not force. He reached an agreement with Kılıçarslan to do so. According to the agreement, Seljukians were to prevent Çaka Bey’s advance toward Marmara.

Çaka Bey, being unaware of this trick, was permanently advancing along Marmara Coasts. He nearly reached Aydos. However, these territories were under Seljukian Sultanate domination. Çaka Bey saw Seljukian armies in front of him suddenly. He was not strong enough to fight with Kılıçarslan the 1st. Therefore, he started negotiations with Kılıçarslan the 1st. Çaka bey did not know that Seljukians had a secret agreement with Byzantium. He freely went to the headquarters of his kinsman. Çaka Bey had become a threat for Seljukians too. In the headquarters of Kılıçarslan the 1st, he was giving a great feast. During this feast, Kılıçarslan the 1st suddenly assaulted on Çaka Bey with his sword and killed him.

Çaka bey, a threat for both Byzantium and Seljukian state was so eliminated. When Çaka Bey, one of the first conquerors of Aegean region was killed with such a deceit, it was year 1097. Thus, Izmir Emirate was collapsed only 16 years after its establishment.
