As a result of the relations of Bulgarian merchants with the Muslim merchants in Khazar country, Harezm and in Samani country and the travels of Harezm people to their country, the religion and culture of Islam started to get diffused in these regions. As a consequence, most of the Bulgarians adopted the religion of Islam in the years of 900. Finally, Idyll Bulgarians people adopted the religion of Islam as the official religion of the state pursuant to the adoption of Islam by Selkey's son, Yiltavar (Ilteber) Almıs. Almıs Khan had applied to the Abbasi Caliph and wanted him to send religious scholars and architects and he had changed his title and name as Emir Cafer b. Abdullah. The Caliph Muktedir Billah had sent a committee composed of theologist scholars and architects. This committee set off in the year of 921 and arrived in the Bulgarian country in May 922.
