Pursuant to Evrengzib, the struggles among the untalented princes and the rebellions of rajahs undermined the country and the empire went through the process of decline. Finally, Bahadır Shah I who was one of Alemgir's sons (Evrengzib's sons) ascended the throne. However, in his period, Racput people rebelled against him. These people also caused rebellions and a great civil turmoil. Afghan people who benefited from this turmoil did not delay in the declaration of their independence.
In the year of 1723, the country was divided into two sections such as "Delhi" and "Haydarabad" shah principalities. Iranian (Avsar) Ruler, Nadir Shah who benefited from this situation captured the Northern India and Delhi in the year of 1739. He despoiled lots of spoils. He confiscated the portion with the amount of 700 millions of Indian rupee in the currency of that period from the treasury of the Indian-Turkish Empire. However, he left Bahadir Shah's grandson in his place. The government was under the dominion of the general governor appointed by Nadir Shah.
In the year of 1748, Afghani Ahmed Shah penetrated into India this time. He established dominion in the provinces of Sindhi, Punjab and Kashmir.
