Manas Myth, which was originated among the Kirghiz Turks (Kırgız Türkleri), is living today with all its liveliness within the Kazakh-Kirghiz (Kazak-Kırgız) Turkish cultural circle. This myth is assumed to have been formed between 11th-12th centuries. Manas, the hero of the myth, is a hero fighting to extend Islam like Oguz Khan in the Islamic version of the myth and Satuk Bugra Khan. However, in Manas myth, it is possible to see the whole culture and beliefs of the Turks before Islam. Manas myth, some of whose variants have 400.000 lines, has the quality of Turkish-Plain civilization within the Kazakh-Kirghiz (Kazak-Kırgız) cultural circle.
