Environs of Lake Baikal by Russians (1648-1665)
When the Russian gangs and the invaders came to the region of Buryat people in the surroundings of the Lake Baikal and established the fort of Barguzin in the coast of Baikal in the year of 1684, most of Buryat people ran away from the oppression of the Russians and they immigrated to the south and to Mongolia. This time, Russians advanced in the direction of the east and they reached to Silka River that was the upper section of Amur. Then, they founded a town named as Nerçinsk over this river in the year of 1658. A "burglar" gang among the Russian Kazaks that moved upon its own will came down along the Amur River and they capture the city of Albaza, that was the bey of the native Daur tribe and they settled in this city. Therefore, a centre pertaining to the Amur Kazakhs was founded. Since Buyrat, Tungusic and Daur people fought against the Russians, the detachments that were composed of the Russian governmental forces and the separate "businessmen" were sent towards them in order to subdue these tribes under the Russian domination. A Russian military unit that was sent from the city of Yakut along Amur under the command of Vasili Polyarkov in the year of 1643 forced the Daur people to deliver "yasak"; however, the greed and violence of the Russian commanders caused the rebellions of Daur people. Polyarkov and his soldiers were put to the sword. Therefore, the attempts of the Russians to establish dominion on the banks of Amur fell short. Upon this event, a "businessman" named as Yerofey Habarov collected a force around him that worked in his own account and he went to the banks of Amur.
The Russians organised sudden attacks against the native people. They killed all of the men, women, children and the old or they took lots of prisoners. At the same time, they collected abundant of "yasak". At the same time, "Albaniz Kazakhs" recognised the domination of the Russian governor. Therefore, the banks of Amur changed hands to the domination of Russians again. A new Russian city that was founded under the name of Aygun in the place where Zeya River flowed into Amur in the year of 1683 would establish the Russian dominion in the lower Amur region. However, the events followed a different direction.
