The second stage of the Mongolian-Turkish movement was against Kuman people. Pursuant to the war on the banks of Kalka in the year of 1224, Kuman people had been considered among the enemies of the Turkish- Mongolian Empire. As a result of the military expeditions in the years of 1238-39, the Kuman People were exiled from the banks of the Don River and the entire Kipchak plain lands. Some of them went towards the Kama Bulgarians in the northeast; and some others took refuge in Hungary. Therefore, the Turkish element increased with Kipchak groups and the Yimek people that had probably came with Kuman people and even the Bulgarians had become Turks. Thus, a result of the Mongolian invasion was the provision of the integration of the Turkish peoples on the coasts of Middle Idyll in a new form. The tribal foundation of today's Kazan Turks can be explained with these historical events.
When he got rid of Kuman People, Batu Khan captured the city of Kiev in the year of 1240 after a short blockade. In those times, the city of Kiev did not have any importance. The cities of Vladimir and Halic that were in the more west had been captured by the Mongolian-Turks. Therefore, the entire Russian lands were captured by Batu Khan. Most of the invasion forces advanced towards Hungaria to which the Kuman people had gone. A branch of these forces advanced towards Silesia over the southern provinces of Poland. They defeated the German forces that they had encountered near Liegnitz in the spring of 1241. However, they could go any further and returned to Hungary. A branch of the Mongolian-Turks had even penetrated into the Balkans and advanced towards the Adriatic costs. Therefore, the expedition in the years of 1240-41 had ended up with a definite success and victory and the army of Batu Khan had won all the pitched battles. They had captured the entire region of the Eastern Europe with the width of thousands of kilometres, and they annihilated the existence of the military and political powers that existed there before. While Jenghiz was alive, the region in the west had become absolute to be given to Coci. Accordingly, the places captured by Batu Khan would be the lands of Coci.
