Shahruh from Sivanogullari family established a khanate in Ferghana in the year of 1710. The capital city of this khanate was Hokand. Ferghana had been subject to the Transoxania in the period of Uzbek people. Then, Seyyid people that alleged that they had come from the lineage of the Prophet and that called themselves as Koca governed Ferghana.

The khanate established by Shahruh from Şibanogullari family had to recognise the domination of China within a short period in the year of 1758. In the first half of the 19th century and in the period of Alim, Muhammed and Mehmed Ali Khans, the borders of the khanate included the cities of Tashkent and Yesi and extended towards Baikal Lake.

Hokand Khanate was forced to recognise the Russian protection in the year of 1868 like Bokhara Khanate. Since the year of 1876, it was taken under the Russian domination entirely and it was abolished thereof.
