It is known that in 16.century, 71 place names belonging to Eymür Tribe were coincided in Anatolia and most of them were found in Sivas-Tokat. At the same date, there were also many tribes called Eymür in various places of Anatolis.The tribe's name is called ''Eymir or İmir'' in Anatoliai and ''Eymür'' among the Iran and Harizm Turcman. However it isn't met with the gorups belonging to this tribe, a subdistrict known as Emirli up to now in Tuzhurmatu, a small town of Kerkük, is drown attention.The subdistrict, tied to Tuzhurmatu 30 km away from southwest of the district, Amirli was the biggest village of Iraq before becoming a subdistrict.Consisting of the tribes which belonged to Bayats, Amirli was the capital of the villages in that area and was formed by 3500 individuals (according to 1965 census) and 580 families.
That the name of Amirli had come from Eymirli or Emirli is most possible. Furthermore, let's remind that a tribe called is Amirli supposed to have lived in Kumbetler, one of the important Turcman villages in Kerkuk.
