THE FIRST TURKISH STATE (TULUNİLER) RULE IN MUSUL

Ahmet b. Tuluni the founder of Tuluni, which was the first Turkish state founded depending on Abbasi claiph, was actually a moneyed soldier. Ahmet b. Talun had promoted in a short period in Mısır and had become a character showed great devotion by Turks. Then he had increased his influence on the State of Abbasi day by day. Even he had started to collect some of taxes of the State and had ruled over the Fustat City. When Ahmet passed away during the war of Syria in 884, Syria and Irag had been ruling over by the state of Tuluni. His son Humareveyh replaced Ahmed. The conflict betrween Ahmed b. Tulun and el-muvaffak the regent of Abbasi went on? Naib sent his son Ahmed to Syria against Humareveyh and the forces of both sides confronted with each other in Dımaşkile Remkarası in Tavvahin in 885. Ahmed was defeated and had to make peace. As for Humaraveyh, he ruled over Musul and was known as governor up to Syria, Egptr and Anatolia region in 886. The State of Tuluni existed until 905 and was destroyed by Muhammed b. Süleyman, brother of Muktef the Abbasi Caliph.
