Pursuant to Ulug Muhammed, his elder son, Mahmud Khan replaced him and he established dominion between the years of 1445 and 1462. When he died in the year of 1462, his son, Halil Khan replaced him and he governed the khanate until the year of 1467. In the period of these two khans, the union of the Golden Horde could not be established, but a peaceful period was experienced in the country. Halil Khan died in the year of 1467. He did not have any sons to replace him; and therefore, the struggles for the throne broke out. The nomination of various names as the candidates of the throne by the beys caused the separations. This situation led to the rebellions of the Russians who benefited from these conditions. The Russian Tsar preferred Kasim Khan and he supported him in the course of his military expedition towards Kazan. Since most of the Turkish beys had supported Ibrahim Khan, they had enthroned him to the throne of Kazan. Ibrahim Khan advanced towards the Russians that rebelled against him and supported Kasim Khan and he defeated them. However, the state of peace could only last for eight years. Although the Russians were defeated one after another, they rebelled and attacked again and again.

Ibrahim Khan died in the year of 1479 and he was replaced by his son, Ali Khan.
