Odd Practices in the areas the Turks lived
In November 1985, an operation including all Turkish areas, Kerkük leading the top, was held by the military forces. The operation was put on by imposing a curfew. The old bank of Kerkük including Kerkük Castle ,was completely searched. In the operation , the people, who were against the search and had weapons including the shotguns, were arrested. Their houses were pulled down by bulldozers. This was repeated in every Turkish region. Besides, Civil Police and spies a part of Baas Party, attacked Turkish businessmen. No measures were taken to project Turkish shops attacked by the Arabs settled in Kerkük. On the top of that, the police attacked them, too . As a statement of reasons , it was put forward that Turkish tradesmen and businessmen had been stacking the goods and selling them only to Turks. Actually , this was not the case. As is was known, the goods were distributed by the government. Especially Turkish merchants were not sold any goods. Even if we confirmed there claims, the High Court would bring them to justice, the terrorists would not be responsible for it.
