THE LOZAN CONFERENCE AND MUSUL ISSUE

The solution case of Musul Issue was held to Peace Conference which was going to be held in Lozan in Paris , with the excitement and soul of “Misak-ı Milli” , the Representatives of Turkey , the commission was going to participate in London Conference chosen from the Turkish Grand National Assembly. For Lozan Conference , The Assembly , with a large number of votes chose Pasha İsmet to the chairman of the commission , and the Minister of Finance Mr.Hasan with the Minister of Health Mr. Rıza Nur were chosen to the members of commission.After having been chosen to the chairman of the commission , Pasha Ismet came to chair summarily said these words:”I would like to express my gratitude to dignified Assembly for showing reliability and consideration about me . Backed up this reliability and consideration , this is exceedingly normal that it is going to be striven to defence and reach our national requests in Peace Conference. Fundemantally, our national independence is lawfully and universally known by everyone . At conference , our repensentatives movement lines , with your Dignifired. Assembly accepted with treaties sofar will be inspred from “Misak-ı Milli” .

Pasha Ismet while coming to İstanbul was just about to go to Londra made his First Statement at his trip.After the train had been set up from Sapanca , Pasha Ismet called the journalist up to him. All of the journalists first question about what basics of Turkey’s defences were at the Peace Conference . Pasha Ismet replied: “Our Peace stistipulatıons are universally known . These stipulations are known by everyone just because we are not behind again and again times and means to announce them .Since we have been enduring many kinds of sacrifices , our aims are so modest and right , These aims are hidden in two words : “Misak-ı Milli”...

In Lozan Conference , the most drawing attention on the top of the subject was surely Musul Issue. The Musul Issue’s agrement which was going to draw the Syria’s border of Turkey gained the importance that the whole world paid attention . Under these circumstances , with the aim of giving and oppurtinity to express their mutual ideas to whole world and conference . Because there was no other way but deal with . That’s why Lord Curzon wanted from represantive of Turkey’s commission to express their ideas about this .After having taken the commission’s opininon ,Lord Curzon will announce the reply of England.
