However, there is not certain informaiton about it, Gokcelu Tribe is known the group that was found among the parts of Varsak Turkmen and lived in Tarsus (Çukurova) during 14-16 centuries.We see them to be registered in the inventerey of 16. century.This society is known to have 22 individuals in H.946 (1539), and is confirmed 50 bennaks and 4 mücerreds in the period of Murad the III. Belonging to the same society, a group in Yunus Peygamber village (today a district in Musul) in Musul is registered 34 bennaks and 11 mücerreds. There was a Turcman village, known as Gokceli today, in Musul.Located in 15km southeast of Musul, Gokceli is a settlement completely formed by Turks and it was close to the Turcman villages called Ortakol.
