Karanazlar are confirmed to be one of the parts of Bayats, the oldest Turk tribe, living in Iraq and stated to have come there before the Mogol Invasions.The oldest informaiton about this tirbe is based on the documents on 16.century.This society consisting of 35 families and 1 mücerred had 226silver coins varidat in H.932 (1526).They settled in two religions in Musul in H.946 (1538).One of them had 75 individuals, 57 families and 8 mücerreds.The other consisted of 19 individuals. Karanazlar is confirmed to have composed of two parts in H.965 (1558).Its known that one of them was 63 bennaks and 15 mücerreds, and the other was 24 bennaks and 9 mücerreds.Some Kethudas belonged to this society are: Aslan, Abdal, Emircan, Hankulu, Oruç, and Şahverdi.
During the period of Murad the III.,they were also two parts.One of them settled in the capital of Musul as having 75 bennaks and 16 mücerreds.The other settled in Musul having 22 bennaks and 1 mücerred.
Known as Karanoaz in the deed inventery, Karanaz is a village name locating in 15km west of Tuzhurmatu in Kerkük today.The Karanaz Village, accepted to be a Bayat village, has 45 families and 250 people (in 1965census).According to the rumour of the people, the eminant Turk poet Fuzuli has the origin of Karanaz Tribe.There are also families known as Karanaz that migrated from this village and settled in Tuzhurmatu and Kerkük.
Being one tribe of the Oghuz, Beğdili was confirmed at the Reşid'd-din Oghuzname as having a ruler one out of five.The main Beğdili part was known to be the larges organization among the Haleb Turcomens during the first years of Süleyman the Magnificient.Beğdilis were also joıned the formation of Safevi State.Connected with this, an important part of them is known to have gone to Iran.The North Syrie Turcomen joined the formation of Safevi State under the name of Samlu.Samlular led the first top as beating other groups of Kızılbaş in the period of Şah Abbas.Being one of the most important Turk Tribes that Safevi State based on, Samlu Tribes mainly consisted of Beğdili, Inallu (then Inanlu) and Harbendelu (Hudabendelu).
Many chiefs were brought up in this tribe in the period of Şah Abbas who has a close relationship with the ruler of Samlu.Belonging to Begdili Group from Samlu's Contries, Ahmed Chief was appointed as Lahican's Darugalic.Apart from him, there were also five brothers from Begdili Tribe the relatives of Şah Abbas: Muhammed, Haydar, Saru, Kapan, and Zeynel.From these, Muhammed chief died in 1022 (1613-1614) and his properties were inherited by Haydar Sultan,his half brother.After the death of Haydar Sultan in 1028 (1602-1603), his worthy belongings were taken over by his son Nuru'd-dehr.He joined some wars during that period.As for Saru Bey, he helped the tribe during the war against Ottoman Empire in H.1011 (1602-1603).And he was promoted from Kirmansah's Ruler to Hille's Ruler in H. 1033 (1623-1624).
Another chief of Beğdili in the period of Şah Abbas was Gündoğmuş Sultan.During the first Bağdat's war of Şah Abbas, he was in Tavuk in Kerkük.Then he took the name of Sultan from Gündoğmuş Şah,Beğdili's Chief, by belonging him.Samlular also maintained their position in the periods of Şah Abbas's assistand and his son Şah Safi.Like other tribes, Samlu became weaker in 18.century, so there were a few chiefs from Samlu.Samlu Tribes maintain their existence as Şah Seven up to now.
Today, there are some Turcomen families known as Begdelli (Begdeli) among the people living in the Turcman villages of Musul.There are also some groups, known to have the origin of Begdili Tribe, that live in the northern part of Musul in Reşidiye, Sirehan (Sirinhan) and Selimiye Villages.Known in Sirehan Village and related to each other Ceccoevi (Cercisevi) and Cemsidevi belong the Begdellii.In addition to Selamiye and Reşidiye, there are various groups coming from this Tribe.It is certain that this name was taken from Begdili Tribe, although it is used incorrectly as Begdelli in the course of time.
