All these efforts started to give its yield and the religion of Islam started to get diffused among the Turks with a high speed. The historians state that Turkish people with 200.000 tents had adopted the religion of Islam in the year of 960. This group was equal to a population of nearly 1.000.000 in numbers. I is beyond doubt that this group were the Turkish tribes such as Karluk, Yagma, Cigil and Tuhsi, etc. that dwelled in the places near the region of Karahanli dynasty. We have observed that Oguz people adopted this new religion in the form of groups in the same year. Seljuk had been in the service of Oguz Ruler State in the beginning but then, he left their region due to some conflicts. He came to the city of Cend together with a large Oguz group.

This movement of Seljuk is of great significance. Seljuk and the Oguz people that were his attendants adopted the religion of Islam in this region. His sons and grandchildren founded the Seljuk State that was called with his name in the following years. On the other hand, Ebu İbrahim who tried to revitalise the Samani State attempted to take the Transoxania back from Karahanli State. In the course of the struggles, he went to Oguz Ruler for a moment and allied with him. He established close relations through marriage and he finally led the Ruler and his attendants to become Muslims (1002). Therefore, the adoption of Islam by Oguz people was finalised in the beginning of the century XI.

The adoption of Islam by Oguz people has had significant short-term results. Prayers were delivered in Nishabur in the name of Seljuk's grandson, Tugrul Bey in May 1038. Thus, a new Muslim Turkish State, Seljuk State was founded. However, there were nomadic Turks who were not Muslims yet in the steppe located in the south and north of Turkestan. After a few years pursuant to the foundation of Seljuk State (1035-44), a Turkish group composed of ten thousands of tents became Muslims and they sacrificed twenty thousands of sheep in the Muslim Festival of Sacrifices in the same year. Ibn el-kesir that had provided this information added that all Turks apart from the Tatars and Hitay people on the border of China had adopted the religion of Islam.
